Specsavers has been helping Zimbabweans take better care of their vision since 1995. Their mission is to change the way our patients see their world by providing excellent services and providing optimal eye care in a friendly and comfortable environment. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Specsavers’ goal of providing customers a comfortable and hygienic environment was challenged. As it was unsafe for customers to try-on glasses in store, only a few customers were allowed in at a time thereby negatively affecting sales. The company needed a virtual-try on solution that was fast, safe and convenient for the customer.
We came up with an easy to use solution which isn’t data intensive. Drawing inspiration from how people use and interact with filters on their cameras we decided to take a similar approach and display the glasses as filters when trying them on to simplify navigation and loading time. The Try-on feature works efficiently both on mobile and desktop interfaces.
